The Sourcing Manager will work with cross functional teams to drive optimal business solutions on components. The position is accountable for supplier sourcing, development and management from concept to HVM while meeting cost, quality and supply objectives through business model optimization and negotiation while maintaining supplier relationships.
Negotiate/manage cost of components used in Qualcomm products, develop cost model, establish and maintain cost database.
Work with product management and engineering teams to define components roadmaps and drive suppliers to deliver to Qualcomms specifications.
Perform RFQs and make sourcing recommendations
Formulate business model, draft agreements and negotiate contracts.
Work with cross functional teams and external partners to ensure availability of components for engineering builds and high-volume mass production.
Aggregate component demand from various Qualcomm products and provide forecast to component suppliers.
Establish relationship with executives of major component suppliers

Minimum three years of experience in semiconductor microelectronics industry with experience in high volume manufacturing and planning.
Proven track record in new product development and supplier relationship management.
Ability to translate technical requirements or issues into business context.
Direct hands on experience and/or Strong familiarity with components used in mobile devices and other electronic system, microelectronics assembly process, and critical material used by the components.
Well-versed in interfacing with various cross functional teams including Design Engineering, Product/Test Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain Management and Program Management.
Strong negotiation skills and proven track record of driving projects to timely completion.
Advanced Excel and database experience and skills to automate sourcing and cost management process, conduct ROI / Capex analysis, and large data set manipulations.
Required: Bachelor's, Chemical, and/or Electrical Engineering and/or Materials Science
Preferred: Master's, Chemical, and/or Electrical Engineering and/or Materials Science
