General Summary:

Qualcomm Automotive team is rapidly expanding to offer optimized solutions for infotainment and ADAS/Autonomous Driving. To scale and strengthen our offering in this domain, we are seeking a Software System Architect who enjoys working with cutting edge technologies in Automotive Infotainment and ADAS.

The automotive Software System Architecture role in Qualcomm requires a broad knowledge of Camera, Display, Graphics, Audio, Video, Computer Vision, and AI/Machine Learning in an automotive environment.

This position will be responsible for working with multiple senior leads in the multimedia teams and coordinating with other system architects within Qualcomm to ensure a holistic software design for achieving complex, high concurrency use cases.

You will need to be knowledgeable of how large embedded systems with multiple OS’s in a virtualized environment work to create a complete system to meet leading edge OEM requirements. You should be intimately familiar with real time systems, complex system-on-chip with multiple compute cores, multiple bus architectures and how these work together to influence system resources and performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

The system architecture role in Qualcomm is a high-impact and visible role responsible for successful product definition, coordinating with internal teams across multiple geographies and external automotive tier-1 and OEM customers. You will be reporting to the Automotive leadership and coordinating with other system architects in Qualcomm Automotive .

Required Skills:

  • 20+ years of embedded systems software design and development or related work experience,

  • Proven experience in Software Architecture definition for embedded systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of discussing, summarizing, and documenting large complex embedded systems,

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or electrical engineering.

Ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Master’s or higher degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or electrical engineering,

  • In-depth understanding multiple key technology areas is expected (Camera/Image sensors, Graphics, Audio, Video, Display, AI/ML, Computer Vision, distributed systems, SoC architecture, RTOS),

  • Experience in delivering software into a functionally safe system with a good understanding of Automotive standards such as ASPICE and ISO26262,

  • Demonstrated ability to translate and navigate business and customer needs into actionable items for software development teams,

  • Experience on performance optimization via software-hardware co-design is an asset,

  • Strong understanding of software engineering tools and workflows for large systems.

  • Hand on experience with coordinating with clients and customers on technical issues
