General Summary:

We are searching for a Machine Learning Research Engineer to be part of Qualcomm AI Processor systems team responsible for developing AI applications for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. The candidate will work on new cutting-edge machine learning algorithms in the areas of computer vision, video, and generative AI.

The responsibilities include reviewing and understanding the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence related to vision, language and multimodal processing; developing new real-time, low power video processing and computer vision algorithms that run on Qualcomm Snapdragon processors; leveraging the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence to develop low power, fast solutions for mobile applications; work closely with the hardware and software teams and support implementation and commercialization of our algorithms on Qualcomm Snapdragon devices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related fields;

• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms;

• Solid understanding of video processing and computer vision algorithms;

• 2+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch;

• Excellent programming skills in Python, C/C++, Linux and Windows;

• Strong motivation and capabilities in learning new subjects especially in the field of video processing, computer vision and artificial intelligence;

• Strong problem-solving skills;

• Effective interpersonal communications skill (written and verbal);

• Analytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-oriented;

• Self-motivated, hardworking, and flexible.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience or publications in the areas of machine learning, computer vision, video/image processing algorithms, NLP or audio/speech processing.

Preferred Disciplines:

• Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering
