Job Overview

  • Qualcomm is seeking a Technical expert to lead technical ITOC team and provide technical guidance and solution with junior team members.

  • Provide network monitoring and assist Network Engineering in fault isolation and resolution.

  • Provide enterprise-wide monitoring and support for data systems including comprehensive Tier 2 support for internal IT services to include troubleshooting and reporting of services.

  • Responsible for using consolidated Event Management system to provide notifications/escalations to service groups during service degradations and outages. Operate, Monitor, Maintain and support Data Center infrastructure equipment.

  • Understanding of Major Incident Process and able to facilitate large meetings for the team working on resolution of Major Incident.

  • Coordinate with other Network Operations Center staff globally. Will be required to work on 24x7 shift model.The job will involve exposure to:

  • Enterprise monitoring and triage support for a wide variety of internal and customer facing IT systems, services, and applications

  • Includes coordination of notifications, escalations, and communications to IT service owners and management for major incidents and service outages

  • Working Knowledge on CISCO Catalyst and Nexus portfolio

  • Sound Understanding with protocols/technologies such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, vPC, etc.

  • Network services such as DNS, DHCP, Radius, TACACS, SNMP, LDAP, SMTP and NFS.

  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, etc.

  • Working with VLAN, VRF, HSRP, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, Class of Service (CoS)

  • Understanding of TCP/IP, access control lists (ACLs), security, firewalls and network traffic analysis.

  • In addition, Internet savvy in a production environment with regards to security, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, syslog, and Virtual Private Networks (VPN).

  • Working with multiple vendors hardware, including Cisco and Juniper. Network hardware vendor certification (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIE, etc.)

  • Using and administrating of operating systems (Windows, Solaris, Linux), network concepts & devices, and peripheral hardware.

  • Use of a wide variety of point monitoring tools and procedures to identify, triage, and escalate IT service degradation or outages.

  • Interfacing with vendors, other IT admins, and end-users as necessary to resolve

  • Diverse multi system environment exposure.

  • Documentation skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Should be in the position to lead the technical team and guide technical team members.

  • CCNP preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 4+ years IT-relevant work experience OR 7+ years IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years leadership role in projects/programs.
