The successful candidate will operate as a member of Corporate Mechanical Engineering department drafting team. Responsibilities include creating and updating solid models of electro-mechanical components, creating and modifying part and assembly drawings, releasing documents to Configuration Management system, and incorporating Engineering Change Orders. The drafter will interface with internal staff in the fast-paced execution of a variety of multi-disciplined projects.
2 to 5 years experience as a mechanical drafter in the wireless or electro-mechanical industry.
Utilization of ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing practices.
Good knowledge of industry documentation practices.
Create 3-D CAD models of off-the-shelf electro-mechanical components.
Create 2-D engineering drawings for electro-mechanical parts and assemblies, labels, cables, and circuit board assemblies.
Create and modify circuit card mechanical constraints drawings, including SMT fabrication panel details.
Create circuit card assembly drawings from CAD data.
Request part numbers from configuration management system.
Release documents and BOMs to configuration management system.
Incorporate ECOs in configuration management system.
Understand and apply department modeling and drafting practices.
Follow established processes and submit work for review.
Effectively interact with Design Team and Configuration Management personnel to ensure timely release of documents.
Operate in a team environment and is able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Pro/Engineer (Creo3) and/or Solidworks for solid model component and drawing creation.
Experience with an engineering PDM data management system.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator and/or Corel Draw for graphics design.
Knowledge of Agile configuration management system desired but not required.
Diploma or Associates degree in a related technical field desired
