Job Overview

  • Qualcomm seeks an Architect to work in the Software Engineering IT team to contribute into DevOps toolchain.

  • Primary areas for contribution would be Software Configuration Management, Release and Code Control, Build Environment & Distribution systems.The job will involve exposure to:

  • Own and lead the design and implementation of existing software configuration management tools including Git/Gerrit/Perforce/Code Collaborator.

  • Solutioning and architecture for new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment

  • Integrate various tools in the DevOps toolchain to accelerate tool team's velocity while maintaining high standards for quality and consistency.

  • Identify industry best practices and draft standards for design and implementation of continuous delivery and integration pipelines and automation workflows

  • understanding of System Architecture, DevOps & SCM tools.

  • understanding in Chef / Chef Automate

  • Programming skills on Ruby,Java, Python, Perl

  • End-to-end understanding of the software development methodologies and tool chains including build automation, version control, testing, code quality

  • Continuous Integration or Continues Delivery

  • knowledge of infrastructure automation, monitoring and security

  • Agile process (SCRUM) is a plus

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with globally distributed peers

  • Ability to drive tasks and deliver on time

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 7+ years IT-relevant work experience OR 9+ years IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in IT-relevant field.

3+ years leadership role in projects/programs.
