Job Overview

Qualcomm's Design Flow Development team defines and enables the RTL to GDSII implementation flows for variety of advanced low power and high performance SOCs, enabling state-of-the-art mobile chipsets from Qualcomm. The Design Flow Development team is looking for outstanding engineers with experience in software development for SoC design framework automation.

Responsibilities & Experience

The engineer will be member of team delivering SoC implementation automation flow framework.

  • Software for design flow integrating implementation stages from design capture to tape out.

  • Compute resources optimization, including cloud based infrastructure

  • Automation for STA/timing data mining and processing

  • Metrics collection and dashboard design

  • Foundation IP and tools/flow release management software

  • Participating in project proposal development including key milestones and deliverables

  • Execute and deliver project goals in a timely manner

  • Resolve issues in all phases of development to assure smooth project execution

  • 5+ years CAD experience, EDA experience, or related work experience with working knowledge of design flow, timing, physical design, VLSI design concepts required

  • Strong understanding of software design principles, algorithms and data structures.

  • Expert in one or more scripting language including TCL, perl, python, ruby or equivalent.

  • Skill in one or more application language including Java, C++, C# or equivalent.

  • Skill in applying software design patterns to object-oriented programming, including MVC.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop large-scale applications using SQL/NoSQL databases, REST API.

  • Experience with Linux type environment including shell scripting.

  • Experience with build systems, such as Jenkins.

  • Experience with Perforce, ClearCase, or DesignSync source control systems.

  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices including test-driven development, pair programming, scrum and sprints.

  • Analytical Skills - The ability to collect information and identify fundamental patterns/trends in data. This includes the ability to gather, integrate, and interpret information from several sources.

  • 2+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

  • 2+ years experience with scripting and automation environments.

  • 3+ years experience with hardware design software such as layout, verification, schematic, timing tools.

  • 1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

  • 1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.*References to a particular number of years experience are for indicative purposes only.   • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

  • 8+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.

  • 2+ years experience with architecture and design tools.

  • 2+ years experience with scripting tools and programming languages.

  • 2+ years experience with design verification methods.

  • 1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering
