Job Overview

Oversees definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development for a variety of products. Determines architecture design, logic design, and system simulation. Defines module interfaces/formats for simulation. Evaluates all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Analyzes equipment to establish operation data, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results. Uses System tools, such as National Instrument (NI) products, LabVIEW, and MathWorks MATLAB, SIMULINK, VISIO and other toolboxes. Uses language such as HDL, C, PERL. Provides technical expertise for next generation initiatives.

  • Perform Synthesis, debug RTL issues and specify timing constraints along with realizing low power specification through RTL to Gates Synthesis for Qualcomms High Performance DSP cores that are critical for the success of many Qualcomm wireless products and adjacent market needs.

Following are the requirements for the role:

  • Specifying timing constraints, perform UPF / MCMM Synthesis, Formal Verification, Conformal Low Power checks, Primetime, Power analysis, Functional ECO Implementation experience

  • Optimize datapath design for low-area, low-power and high-speed using various techniques in RTL, Synthesis and utilizing feedback from Physical Design

  • Prototype critical blocks using Synthesis and Power analysis tools

  • Interface routinely with Microarchitecture, Logic Design engineers

  • Proficient in TCL and perl

  • Lead the Synthesis of a Core to completion by managing the debug, implementation and schedule while delivering the necessary collaterals to the PD team for Place and Route

  • Working independently with little supervision.

  • Making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
