Job Overview System Validation and Emulation team is part of the central SoC digital hardware organization responsible for the overall quality of the SoC silicon. This team works closely with architects, designers, verification engineers, software engineers, and customers. We are currently seeking a candidate for the position of Debug Engineer with Linux Kernel experience. In this role, the candidate will support two critical roles: 1. Bring up Linux in new SoC in various emulation platforms and silicon, provide Linux boot environment to multiple internal customers, use open source CPU and memory specific Linux test cases for enhanced stress and performance benchmarking, create test plans and execute them in both emulation and Silicon. 2. Debug CPU and memory specific customer returns and SLT (System Level Test) fails related to hardware defects by way of reproducing, root causing and creating simpler test cases for implementing in production screens.

Minimum Qualifications Candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in silicon and emulation environments and are expected to have experience in:
Debugging SoC hardware issues with focus on CPU and DDR
Debug tools including JTAG and kernel debuggers
Detailed understanding of the Linux kernel internals
CPU (ARM64) and SoC architectures
DDR protocol and Spec
Experience programming in C and Python
Emulation environments for development and debug
Preferred Qualifications Strong SoC silicon debug background solving hardware and software problems. Solid experience in post-silicon enablement and bring-up. Strong C or Python scripting experience, including tool creation and flow automation. Using lab char equipment (scope and protocol analyzer).
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
