Qualcomm is looking for a motivated, self-directed and experienced system characterization engineer to perform characterization and device/product integration of portable consumer devices, sensors and interfaces (e.g. Touch, Stylus, Fingerprint). The candidate must have a proven record of success through hands on individual contributions and leadership across functional teams.
Responsibility includes systems characterization and module integration, such as electro-mechano-acoustic characterization of sensor modules, optimizing the drive schemes, timing and FW optimization.
In addition, the candidate will be developing special tests and methodologies to understand device physics, module performance and to determine the high-confidence assessment of the causes of the failures.
Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of related hands-on industrial experience in module and systems characterization:
Electro-mechanical characterization and bring up of sensors, modules, TFT arrays
Experience in quantifying module (ASIC -->sensor) interactions
Drive waveforms and drive schemes development. FW optimization
Specified test methodology and data flow at manufacturing partners
Specified and built routines and equipment for characterization and automation.
Using and programing lab equipment (scopes, parameter analyzers, Network analyzers, etc)
Basic, C/C++/C#, Matlab, JMP, familiar with TCP/IP, GPIB IEEE, RS232, USB interface protocol.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Characterization of sensor in multiple domains (electrical, ultrasonic)
Experience in data acquisition and programming is a plus
Ultrasonic analysis tools (ANSYS, PZFlex, KLM models)
Ultrasonic beam forming
Board level mixed signal specification for characterization
Education Requirements Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics
