As a member of Qualcomm customer engineering team, responsible for successful integration of Qualcomm WLAN, Bluetooth, and 15.4 solutions into customer end products in IoE and consumer electronics markets. Provide technical training to the companys field application engineers during the pre-sales process. Provide in-depth technical responses to customers and to the companys field application engineers during the pre-sales process. Once engaged with a customer, map out the technical details of system integration plan, from project start through mass production. Work closely with cross function teams in Qualcomm including development engineering, product marketing and business development, program management, and peers in customer engineering organization across multiple regions.
Board level RF/baseband/digital circuit design related to WLAN and Bluetooth technology. Must have good lab skills using various instruments, such as Spectrum Analyzer, Logic Analyzer, VSA, Network Analyzer, and Oscilloscope.
Hardware application engineering experience including managing customer technical issues, hardware design support, and customer facing documentation.
Prior system integration experience with WLAN and/or BT and/or 15.4 products are required and knowledge in 802.11 and/or BT and/or 15.4 is helpful.
Must be able to proactively anticipate customer design issues and author white papers and application notes that address those issues.
Must possess ability to perform failure analysis, work with customers on identifying design/manufacture/ATE related issues.
Must possess superior problem solving and board-level debug capabilities.
Must be self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide system design feedback to IC and system development team.
Ability to manage internal projects and coordinate with overseas field application engineers.
Ability to proactively manage customer expectations to influence customer relation and design decisions is a plus. Prefer candidates who are currently in a hardware applications engineering position.
Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of industry experience in the following:
HW design related to WLAN and/or BT technology
Board level RF/digital circuit design
RF debug and RF test equipment skill
Board level bring-up, debug, and test in RF/baseband wireless hardware
RF debug and RF test equipment skills with expertise using spectrum analyzers, signal generator, network analyzers
Schematic capture/layout tools and RF specific layout practices
Interacting with manufacturing team to resolve test and performance issues
Providing detailed technical analysis and resolution of customers issues in a timely manner
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Electrical Engineering
