Job Overview Qualcomm is taking its traditional strengths in digital wireless technologies to exciting new fields such as 3D sensing, computational photography, and heterogeneous sensor arrays for mobile. The Multimedia R&D team builds and tests prototype systems and algorithms for these technologies. Team members will interact closely with systems and hardware engineers and software developers beginning with concept reviews and following through system implementation, tuning, testing, and demos. Candidates should be flexible in their work assignments as priorities can change quickly in this fast paced environment. Team members can also expect to have some interactions with external customers through trade shows and/or on-site demos. Prime responsibilities will be system integration and test as well as technology demos. Candidates must be able to evaluate technologies, systems, and devices through testing, logging and analysis. Candidate must be able to create testing environments using software and hardware tools and be comfortable in a laboratory environment. Candidates must be able to develop test procedures, execute tests, and isolate problems. Candidate must be willing to travel and be able to work well with others in a technical environment.
Minimum Qualifications Industry exp. in following skills:
Experience with operating and evaluating depth related Computer vision applications
Exposure to active depth sensing systems including structured light and time of flight.
Depth system KPI measurement and testing, error analysis, calibration.
Matlab based data analysis, automation and scripting
Working with and testing applications on Windows, Android, and/or OpenNI.
High level programming languages, i.e., C, C++, Java
Experience with image processing and computer graphics pipelines and architecture
Experience with camera technology
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Electrical Engineering
