Job Overview Qualcomm Connectivity a.k.a. QCA http://www.qualcomm.com/qca/ is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm and a leading provider of wireless and wired technologies for the mobile, networking, computing and consumer electronics markets. Within the Networking Business Unit, the Small Cell Business segment is responsible for delivering small cell silicon solutions addressing the needs of carriers, service providers, and MSOs across the world. We are seeking a candidate for a product management role within this segment.
In this key position you will be part of a team dedicated to developing the small cell market segment for QCA. The primary responsibility is to manage small cell silicon products for LTE, UMTS, and CDMA2000 air interfaces, including baseband processor SoCs, RFICs, and other supporting ICs. As a product manager you will be managing the entire product life cycle from strategic planning, go-to-market strategy, pricing, collateral creation, and design wins until product end of life. You will be responsible for maintaining long range forecasts for small cell products in your specific geographical market. You will collect input from sales and regional teams, and work with finance and sales to drive the forecast, pricing decisions and customer support activities. You will be responsible for business development activities in your geographical regions by working closely with regional teams and including periodic travel to the region. You will collect market requirements and generate product requirements for small cell products by conducting market research supported by visits to customers, partners, and service providers. You will be driving a solution set across multiple teams (primarily Engineering, Corporate R&D, Marketing Communications, and Sales) based on your customers market requirement. In your region, you will have overall responsibility of all OEM/direct sale, operator/indirect sales and other partner relationships. You will also be involved in driving potential partner relationships needed to create a viable small cell ecosystem around Qualcomms products including test equipment manufacturer, RF frontend, timing solutions and so on. You will be intimately involved in driving BOM analysis of various products, competitive analysis, feature differentiation and product presentations in order to bring forward the total value of our solutions. You will help educate customers as well as local business development and support teams on QCA advantages vs. competition.
The candidate must be willing to travel. Expected travel is 30 %, and will involve overseas customer visits. San Diego or San Jose.
Minimum Qualifications 5+ years' experience in the following areas:
Product management/product marketing with a semiconductor and/or networking system company.
3GPP and 3GPP2 air interfaces.
At least one complete silicon design cycle for RFICs or digital SoC.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred:
- Multiple years of experience in SW development.
Education Requirements Required: BS, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physical Sciences.
Preferred: Master's, Business Administration or equivalent
