Job Overview Customer Engineering (CE) team helps customers with the design specific customizations from boot, bring up, power/performance and stability from concept design to final product. CE team does design reviews, customer documentation, training, answering technical questions. This is very hands on technical job requiring below skill and experience. The role of this position is to enable and provide Software engineering services to Qualcomm Mobile station Software users. QCT's software applications engineers work with handset manufacturers with Embedded Application and Wireless protocol Software. It is a very challenging position requiring the candidate to learn Qualcomm Mobile station software, Embedded Software, Real Time OS, 3G/4G wireless protocols, related specifications, their implementations, Wireless Mobile Test Equipments, test procedures, and industry standard test tools. The role requires interfacing with handset software developers and Qualcomm engineers to do due diligence, debug failures, suggest fixes, improve the software, enhance test procedures, develop scripts to automate debugging and document various procedures, and debug techniques. It is highly technical job requiring significant hands-on work. This is a very challenging position that requires the candidate to learn and internalize QCT hardware and software operation concepts very quickly. This candidate is expected to have strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with the internal and external (customer) ecosystem. Background of working with OEM/ODM is a big plus. Experience in wireless communications is highly desired. Familiarity with ARM architecture is required. Prior experience with portable hand-held devices and technical support for customers desirable.

Minimum Qualifications Experience with the following:

  • C/C++ embedded programming

  • Real time operating systems

  • CDMA/UMTS/LTE protocols

  • Software debugging skills on embedded real time operating systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise with tools and techniques used in embedded real time operation systems (JTAG etc)

  • General knowledge of HLOS (Android, Window)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, high motivation, the ability to learn quickly, and must be a self-starter

  • Background working on modem protocol development area

Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
