Job Overview Qualcomm Research is defining the next-generation architectures for our system-on-chip (SoC) products for a variety of different markets. We have an exciting & dynamic computer architect position available with a focus on novel architectural concepts and their applicability to Qualcomms SoCs. The position requires working with a team of world-class SoC and processor architects, modeling and evaluating innovative concepts, and then working with digital designers for realization. The position will involve understanding industry and product trends, work with the product team to define feature sets and architect solutions for delivering the required performance, power and area. This role has a heavy focus on developing processor models at different levels of abstraction using state-of-art techniques. The position will also involve collaboration with schools and other third parties on promising technology.

Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of experience in processor modeling or micro-architectural exploration experience building models for a processor at different levels of abstraction.

Preferred Qualifications - Expertise in computer architecture, with especially deep knowledge of modern CPU and/or GPU architectures, memory hierarchy, interconnects, etc.

  • Experience with C++ and Verilog

  • Multiprocessor systems

  • Hardware virtualization

  • Security architecture

  • Weakly-ordered memory models

  • On-chip bus architecture & off-chip memory systems

  • RTL development using Verilog, synthesis, timing analysis,

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills,

  • Knowledge of machine learning workloads is desired

Education Requirements Required: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Doctorate, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
