Job Overview This individual is responsible for Customer Quality Engineering for Qualcomm QCT, the worlds largest fabless semiconductor company. Our goal is to be recognized by our customers as the preeminent semiconductor solution provider delivering world class quality. The position of Director, CQE is the key quality interface to our customers, and their advocate to the QCT business and engineering organizations.
In this role, you will:
Provide leadership for US and international CQE teams. Establish a compelling vision and supporting strategies resulting in Qualcomm being recognized by our customers as a premier quality supplier in the relevant market segments we serve.
Maintain a current pulse of emerging customer Q&R requirements and competitive landscape. Influence internal stakeholders with actionable data to ensure gaps to expectations are closed in a timely fashion.
Establish and maintain healthy relationships with influential/decision making customer Q&R contacts. Establish proactive Q&R support strategies that result in high levels of customer satisfaction. Be visible via execution of routine Customer QBRs and Branch CQE visits.
Establish and maintain a robust employee development plan that ensures each employee in the CQE organization is poised for success as tools and technologies continue to advance.
Partner with key customers to ensure that healthy and accurate customer line and field DPPM data streams are provided, internalized and acted upon to ensure world class product quality performance.
Assume a leadership role in the resolution and communication of major product quality issues that may have impacted external customers
Provide oversight for Qualcomms Change Control System and PCN process ensuring that business practice remains in line with documented procedures. Evolve such procedures as necessary to achieve a balance between customer satisfaction and Qualcomm business efficiency.
Ensure customer RMA requests are met with a rapid response and founded on solid engineering evaluations. Routinely mine the RMA data to highlight opportunities for systemic product quality improvement.
Review and approve: Customer issue notifications, Quality sections of Customer agreements, Waivers, PCN approvals
10-15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with multifaceted aspects of quality function (fab, assembly, test, reliability, etc.).
5 + years of experience at the Director level or higher directly interfacing with customers on quality & reliability requirements and issue resolution.
Demonstrated ability to foster innovation and celebrate success.
5 + years of experience in the mentoring of high performing culturally diverse international teams.
Strategic mindset: Ability to read the environment/risks and establish organization wide objectives targeted for measurable high impact results.
Strong structured problem solving capability including knowledge and application of statistical analysis methods and 8D investigations.
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and influence skills with internal stakeholders (Sales/Customer Service/Applications Engineering) as well as external customers.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint. Working with data-based applications (such as Oracle and Sales Force) is desirable
Superior verbal/written communication and presentation skills
Data based decision making with ability to rapidly establish a clear path forward in ambiguous situations
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering and/or Materials Science and/or Mechanical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Electrical Engineering and/or Materials Science and/or Mechanical Engineering
