The Customer Engineering team support customers with all aspects of embedded software and systems development. This includes assisting OEMs with designs, providing training, debugging, and assistance in optimizing and integrating software. This role will expose the candidate to the key players in the wireless industry and places him or her right in the heart of the dynamism of the mobile device revolution. The prospective candidate will be part of a core Engineering team expertise in our San Diego headquarter that provide technical support and guidance of our Snapdragon modem to all the major mobile handset manufacturers worldwide. The ideal candidate will partner with both our internal engineering team as well as external customer interface in training, support and problem solving. Some travel to customer sites may be required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Software debugging skills on embedded real time operating systems

  • C/C++ software programming

  • Background knowledge of wireless communication in any of these radio access technologies (GSM, CMA, WCDMA, LTE, WiFi 802.11 family)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Wireless system knowledge and/or background applicable to RF software

  • Previous experience with Qualcomm cellular chipsets

  • RF SW device driver development experience

  • RF testing experience

  • Demonstrated expertise working on a lab bench with HW and RF Test equipment (protocol test call boxes, spectrum analyzer, Oscilloscope, etc.)

  • Hands on experience in manufacturing test program debug and optimization

Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
