Job Overview This position will be a Legal Specialist within the IP Departments Operations team and will be responsible for maintaining Qualcomms patent portfolio and various operational functions, including annuities docketing, management of annuity payments and extracts, processing data integrity reports, management of foreign country claim counts and preparation of case specific Power of Attorney documents to ensure annuities payments can be made timely and accurately. Responsibilities may also include managing global portfolio changes, inventor information details, the IP Department Inventor Award program, internal on-boarding/off-boarding processes and records management. The position may also require some patent prosecution work on specific projects from time to time. The ideal candidate for this role has IP annuity experience, is expected to maintain professional conduct and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a demanding and changing environment.

Minimum Qualifications Paralegal Certificate OR College graduate with 4-7 years of experience in legal field OR 4-7 years legal experience under supervision of attorney (CA bar) AND 1-4 years IP specific experience.
Preferred Qualifications 3 years of experience in working with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook required; PowerPoint, Visio preferred). Work with a very high volume of patent cases. IPManager and IP specific experience. Team player and perform any required tasks to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast paced environment. Ability to meet strict and often changing deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to think logically and communicate questions, thoughts and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing. Proactively assume responsibility and consistently follow through on assignments. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Identify urgent correspondence when managing cases. Conduct research and update database fields. Update process documents and keep abreast of company/dept. policies and procedures (e.g., court rules, relevant law, etc) as well as industry trends.
