Job Overview The Qualcomm Server CPU team designs high-performance, low-power microprocessor cores that are integrated into Qualcomms Centriq line of Server products. Qualcomm's CPU Team is currently seeking candidates to join the custom circuit team at the Raleigh, NC office. Qualcomms custom circuit team uses industry standard CAD tools in concert with custom flows to develop innovative circuit solutions for microprocessor products. Responsibilities include: schematic entry, circuit simulation, circuit optimization, layout implementation, and timing analysis (RTL to GDS). Designs must meet aggressive targets for circuit performance, dynamic power, leakage power and area.
Candidate must be able to work effectively as part of a highly integrated and interdependent design team to meet project objectives. Work with machine architects to develop novel circuit structures that provide competitive advantage to Qualcomms microprocessors. Work with technology team to exploit leading edge foundry solutions. This role spans semi-custom data path macros to full custom memory design.

Minimum Qualifications 3 or more years of experience in custom CPU circuit design is required
Preferred Qualifications Experience in the following areas is preferred:
Custom Data path circuit design
Memory circuit design Small-swing SRAM to full-swing Register File arrays
Tool Automation - auto layout generation
Variation aware design
High-performance, low-power design techniques
Scripting (Skill, TCL, Perl)
Education Requirements BSEE required; MSEE/PhD preferred
