Job Overview Role Description:

The role is to be a part of the Wi-Fi software development team for Qualcomms range of Wireless LAN SoC solution based on IEEE 802.11. Work on diverse problems like building high performance WLAN using 802.11ac and 802.11ax to building extremely low power Wi-Fi for IoT applications. Work on chips that go into diverse markets from TVs, Audio systems, Cars, Cameras and Appliances. Provide technical leadership to the team while being closely involved in design and implementation of new features and market driven enhancements to Qualcomms Wi-Fi stack.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain Linux kernel data plane, host interface drivers (cfg80211 based) and applications for IEEE 802.11 devices

Work closely with Firmware and System test teams to resolve system level issues

Provide work breakdown for new features with feasibility study, effort estimates and risk mitigation

Should be willing to travel within India or abroad for business requirements on need basis

Minimum Qualifications Required:

4+ years of hands-on system software development experience with 3+ years on Linux kernel development, specifically networking subsystem

Good knowledge in Linux kernel drivers data path implementation and optimization across different host interfaces such as PCIe, SDIO and USB

Hands-on experience in Linux IP Stack/Network drivers development, QoS, Packet Scheduling and Throughput optimization

Proven track record of providing technical leadership and mentoring team members

Excellent C programming skills

Solid knowledge of IEEE 802.11 protocol specification

Conversant with protocol analysers - OmniPeek, Wireshark and tools such as Chariot and iPerf

Excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills that can be applied to resolve system issues

Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Communications Engineering. Masters degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications Desired:

Knowledge of scripting languages like Python/Perl

Exposure to 802.1x authentication protocols / Public Key Infrastructure

Conversant with development tools (compilers, linkers, etc.) and debuggers such as JTAG, GDB etc.,
